This 12 day tour combines the best of Armenia and Georgia, two very different but equally rewarding countries. In both, you’ll discover centuries-old monasteries in breathtaking locations, fascinating museums, characterful cities and of course a landscape that’s as beautiful as it is varied. Taste Armenian brandy, learn how to bake lavash, explore underground cave cities, luxuriate in a thermal bath and visit a chaotic animal bazaar. Throughout, you’ll receive a typically warm Caucasus welcome in a region where hospitality means so much more than just polite and efficient service.

We’ll begin in the history museum to get an overview of the changes that have taken place over the years before moving on to the Matenadaran Library. With 17,000 rare manuscripts under its roof, this is one of the world’s oldest repositories of Greek, Persian and Arabic manuscripts. Afterwards, you’ll tour the city’s main sights including a look at the Singing Fountains of Republic Square and a visit to the Yerevan Brandy Company to taste its famous Ararat cognac. It was originally constructed in the 1st century AD but was felled by a 1679 earthquake. Restoration in the 1970s has been faithful to its Greco-Roman architecture. Nearby, you’ll visit Geghard Monastery, which takes its name from the legendary lance that was used to pierce the body of Christ, kept here for centuries. The present complex was built in the mid 13th century but there was a monastery on this site centuries earlier. Afterwards, we’ve arranged a visit to a local house where you will have the chance to help prepare a typical Armenian bread known as lavash. Overnight in Yerevan. (B, D)

Wine Tasting
Gregory the Illuminator introduced Christianity to Armenia and the monastery of Khor Virap is connected to this important figure in the country’s history. The monastery’s elevated position means visitors have a wonderful view across to Mount Ararat. Though this snow-capped peak is located in neighbouring Turkey, it is very special to Armenians. Continuing on, we visit Noravank - a 12th century monastery nestled beside sheer rock faces in a twisty gorge. Our last stop today is at the acclaimed Areni Winery. Viticulture has a long tradition in both Armenia and Georgia. You’ll have the chance to taste some of the wine and perhaps make a souvenir purchase. Overnight in Yerevan. (B, D)

We are very happy to have served thousands of happy customers who travelled with us.
I was impressed with the coordination, knowledge, and overall quality of the transfers. The tour guides knowledge of the area and attractions was also very impressive.
All tour guides were excellent, very knowledgable and friendly.
The whole experience was good, the programme was interesting and the guides were good or very good. We were met at each point as per the programme. Booking, visa support, assistance from your office were all excellent.
We had wonderful guides and drivers. Everything with transfers worked great! Maybe I would use you again, after I rest up a bit after this trip!!!
Important to get the two standard trips as offered, back to back plus bespoke extras of travel, transfers and hotel plus flights.
Especially good- reliability, guides, flawless organisation, promptness of all staff
